Episode 47: The Gift of Giving Video

Gift giving in mildlife is meant to show the important people in our life how much we love and appreciate them. For midlife women, the best gifts are those that someone would really love but wouldn't necessarily buy for themselves. The perfect gift is the topic of  this week's episode of Life after Kids with Drs. Brooke and Lynne. In midlife, give thoughtful, meaningful, low stress gifts

Enough of the turkey already!  We're on to holiday shopping!

Did you start on Black Friday?  Are you waiting for Cyber Monday?  Maybe you're one of those who's bought, boxed, and wrapped by October!  Whatever the case, there's no denying that the gift giving season is in full swing!  Shopaholics rejoice!

For some of us, gift giving comes easily.  It's a love language.  For others, finding the right gift for that special person can be a difficult challenge.  At the end of the day, regardless of which camp you fall into, presents are meant to show the important people in our life how much we love and appreciate them.

Listen, there's a time and place for a gift card, but we believe the best gifts are those that someone would really love but wouldn't necessarily buy for themselves. And, giving the perfect gift is the topic of discussion in this week's episode of Life after Kids with Drs. Brooke and Lynne, The Gift of Giving Video. We've listed a few "outside of the box" gift ideas below...

  • Think Etsy for all things customizable and meaningful.  Do you know someone that loves baking? They might love a ceramic pie pan engraved with one of your favorite pie recipes

  • Give the gift of an experience.  Think tickets to a concert, show, or even racing cars at the track

  • Vacations make great gifts and they're a great way to get kids off their phones and other devices so they can make memories with you

  • Charity Buzz is a gift site for people who already seem to have everything- bid on a cool experience or get a personalized message from a celebrity

  • Donate to a charity in your loved one's name and give them a personalized tree ornament to signify it

  • Provide an act of service like babysitting for a couple with young kids or cleaning house for an elderly family member.  You could even cook a friend a very special dinner

This holiday season, let's rebel against giving a gift just to give it. Instead, let's think about gifts we can give with special meaning. Watch this week episode of Life after Kids with Drs. Brooke and Lynne to hear about our favorite ways to tackle gift giving. Click the picture above to watch The Gift of Giving Video. Together we can find ideal gifts that are manageable, thoughtful, and not too stressful! Santa's got nothin on us!

It's not just a gift. It's giving your soul a lift.
